7) Fruits and Vegetables Are Essential
Consume at least five servings of fruits and vegetables each day. This may seem like a lot, but each serving is only ½ cup. Try to have at least two-thirds of your plate with vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and legumes at each meal, and the remaining third with a protein such as chicken or fish. In general, a serving of fruit has twice as many calories as a serving of vegetables, so be sure to eat more vegetables than fruits.
